Get to Know Karen Shambaugh,
OTR/L, CLT from X-Cel
Karen Shambaugh is a licensed Occupational Therapist Certified in Lymphedema Management. Her abilities have grown with over 20 years of experience. Her desire to further enhance the level of care and treatment has also grown. In addition to being the proprietor of X-Cel Performance Rehab, LLC, she is a licensed occupational therapist. Her primary focus had been in the treatment of hands and upper and lower extremities. She has a certification to treat lymphedema management. Karen focuses on Lymphedema management services due to low supply of clinicians in the Western Maryland and West Virginia area.
We also offer physical therapy as we have a licensed physical therapist and physical therapy assistants. They have more than 40 years experience. They have a passion to perform to their peak ability and meet the needs of our patient population.

Brooke Lamp, BS/PTA
Brooke graduated from the Exercise Physiology program at West Virginia University in 2015. She continued her education at Allegany College of Maryland and graduated the Physical Therapist Assistant program in 2017. She enjoys making memories with her husband, Jared, and daughter, Alexandra!
Janessa Wills, BS/PTA
Janessa graduated from the Exercise Physiology program at West Virginia University in 2012. She continued her education at Allegany College of Maryland and graduated the Physical Therapist Assistant program in 2014.
Karen Shambaugh
Karen is a graduate of West Virginia University with a Masters in Occupational Therapy. She has over 18 years experience. She is a certified Lymphedema Specialist since 2004.
Neil Blake, OTR/L
Neil is a 2004 Graduate of Mount Aloysius College. He specializes in upper extremity treatment and manual techniques. Neil has experience in outpatient therapy, home care, neuro rehab, orthopedic rehab, trauma, acute care, and skilled nursing rehabilitation.
Ryan Dante
Ryan was born in Cumberland Maryland, and grew up in Fort Ashby and Romney, WV. He graduated from Hampshire High School in 2008. He then went to West Virginia University and graduated in 2011 with a bachelors of science in exercise physiology. In 2015, he became a Doctor of physical therapy. He worked for 4 years in Stephens City, VA, in a small private practice clinic. During this time he became a board-certified specialist in orthopedic physical therapy. He has been working in West Virginia for the last two years. He is certified to perform functional dry needling. Ryan enjoys spending time getting to know patients and helping them achieve their goals. These goals include trying to avoid surgery or recovery from one. He lives with his wife and daughter in Romney, WV. During his free time, he enjoys football, hiking, skiing, and playing video games.
Allie Phillips OTR/L
Allie is a Romney, WV native. She graduated from West Virginia University with a Masters in Occupational Therapy in 2011. She has experience in skilled nursing rehab, outpatient therapy, and pediatric therapy (ages 3 months and up).
Janie Anderson
Janie is a 2020 graduate of Allegany College of Maryland. She is a licensed and certified occupational therapy assistant.
Sharon Stakem
Sherry is a 1986 graduate of West Virginia University. She has over 34 years of experience, including skilled nursing rehabilitation, acute care, outpatient therapy, and home care.
Clarissa Athey
Clarissa is the Office Manager. She has over 20 years of experience.

Alex Grimm
Alex is a 2018 graduate of Allegany College of Maryland. She is a Licensed and Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant.
